[ Philoctetes , from Sophocles to Heiner Müller]

Abstract:

The article focuses on two plays about the Greek hero, heir to the weapons of Heracles, written by Sophocles and Heiner Müller. With regard to the tragedy of Sophocles, the relationship with sacrificial ritual based on the studies of Walter Burkert gives rise to an alternative reading of the final speech, ex machina , of Heracles and the ending and meaning of the drama. In the case of Müller, the article discusses, in addition to differences and continuities in relation to the Greek model, the actuality of the play in times of crossroads.
