Rooting of quince 'Portugal' and 'Japonês' cuttings in different ambient and positions in the recipients

This work had the objective to verify the rooting of quince 'Portugal' and 'Japonês' cuttings in different ambient conditions and positions in the recipients. Woody cuttings of the branch were collected from quinces plants localized in Lavras-MG, in the hibernal period (August). The cuttings were standardized with 20 cm of length, being placed in plastic recipients measuring 28 x 22 cm, filled with a substrate composed by soil and sand (2:1 v/v), in two different ambient conditions (green house with temperature of 27±2 ºC and 85% of humidity; nursery with 50% of brightness) and three different positions in the recipient (buried 1/3, 2/3 and 3/3 of the basal part of the cuttings). The cuttings placed in the nursery received water daily. After 75 days it was verified the cuttings buried 2/3 of its length provided better results and the green house was the ambient condition that presented better results.
