The Pierre Robin anomaly has a prominent role in the health care of the Hospital de Pesquisa e Reabilitação de Lesões Lábio-Palatais (HPRLLP) because of its peculiar characteristic (micrognathia, glossoptosis, overarched or cleft palate, backward positioning of the tongue) causing cyanosis, retraction, opisthotomus, pneumonia due to aspiration, this demanding specific medical and nursing care. Among the malformations related to the cleft lip and palate, the Pierre Robin anomaly is the one that shows the greatest frequency, demanding more acurate care, hence the importance of our report on the research performed in our services, so that we can supply the health professionals with help to outline an effective approach, to guide the care related to the positioning of the child, feeding technique and pre and postoperatory care.
