Along the years, the word care has been a common one for those involved with nursing theory and practive; nevertheless, on our search for a beter understanding of that word, quite a number of questionings came up. On developing our work, we have selected three authors who have been dedicatingtheir efforts to the study of care/caring, and tried to present what those authors understand about such dyad, its goals, importance and components. Closing our study, a few questions are proposed, seeking to promote reflection among the nursing personnel.
