In this article the author describes her experience with Junior Student Nurses — 5th semesters — discipline of Medical-Surgical Nursing, at the School of Nursing and Obstetrics, Federal University of Minas Gerais.
The experiment was to introduce the students in the care of private patients in a Surgical Unit. The study relates the student's opinions about the importance of the learning experience with these different segment of the clientele.
