The Support Group to Person with an Ostomy, an interinstitutional and interdisciplinary agent, drifts, executes and evaluates health actions, through livehood (living) and knowledge exchanges, among professionals, users and relatives. The group has an assistencial basis in adopted and improved partnership within the activities of Academical Extension of the Santa Catarina Federal University. The main goal is to present historical summary on the group's twenty years old existence, completed in 2005. The methodology is descriptive-documental. In 1985, in the Academical Hospital, persons with an ostomy and professionals of the health sector met to know these people's condition and to create health supports. The group's history (journey) shows significant progresses in the conduction of the health attendance for the life quality improvement of the persons with an ostomy. It evaluates the contribution of the members who attend nursing course and of the professionals who are sensible to the partnership, of the approval and actual participation of the users in the historical process of the group.
