This study is an experience report whereby the (re)building of a family planning group in a Basic Health Unit Clinic in a neighborhood within the city of Rio Grande, RS, Brazil is processed, based on popular education in health. The work was developed through an operative group. Its objective is to increase awareness in women towards family planning, in its entirety, mobilizing these women towards a shared commitment with their partners in joint construction of daily family planning. Thus, each user as the subject of their own story was valued, contributing in order to benefit their quality of life, in tune with the benefits of popular education in health.
