ISO 27001 certification

(Updated: 2023/11/08)

SciELO Project's Information Security Management System (SciELO ISMS) receives ISO 27001 certification

The SciELO project, which implements the SciELO Program in Brazil through Fundação de Apoio à Universidade Federal de São Paulo (FapUNIFESP), received the ISO 27001 certification in 2023. The certification is an international recognition of the commitment to security of the SciELO Brazil project.

ISO 27001 is an international standard that establishes the requirements for an information security management system (ISMS). The SciELO ISMS was assessed by an independent audit, which concluded that the project meets all the requirements of the standard.

The ISO 27001 certification demonstrates that SciELO Brazil has a robust information security system that protects its information assets, such as personal, financial and commercial data. SciELO's ISMS includes controls to prevent, detect and respond to information security incidents.

SciELO Brazil is committed to protecting the information of its users, partners and collaborators. ISO 27001 certification is an important step in demonstrating this commitment.

ISO 27001 certification offers several benefits for SciELO development and operation, including:

  • Reduced risk of information security incidents
  • Improved user and partner confidence

SciELO is confident that ISO 27001 certification will help it continue to improve its information security.
