SUMMARY
The piquiá (Caryocar villosum) is a tree native to the Amazon Basin with a potencial for forestation became of fast growth and wood quality. As seed production is not abundant and also difficult of processing, the authors studied vegetative propagation with juvenile cuttings which were induced to grow on stubbs -of young prunned plants. The cuttineo rooted well under 50% screen shade and with out rooting regulators.
