Open-access The world trembles everywhere

The article re-reads the essayLa Cohée du Lamentin, Poétique V (essay) (Paris, Gallimard, 2005), by Edouard Glissant, and discusses how the proposal to think of the trembles (and not about the trembles) approaches contemporary uncertainties. Uncertainties that will be addressed here in a double aspect: in their relations with the essay form (and therefore with a certain deviation from the theocraticals systems), and in the hypothesis underlying the entire text, which is: that uncertainties become more acute because we go through a moment of change in the modern western episteme.

Keywords:
Glissant; tremor; uncertainty; episteme; essay
