Acontece?

In this essay, the author makes use of the discussion about Eduardo Guerreiro's master's dissertation on Armando Freitas Filho's poetic work (UFRJ, 2002), in order to rephrase the problem of the possible relation between literary criticism and critical philosophy. For this purpose, he returns to the tradition of the sublime, mostly through its reconsideration by French philosophy in the eighties, around Jean-François Lyotard and Philippe Lacoue-Labarthe. The answer to the problem of the articulation of critique will motivate the translation of the sublime event in terms of Lacanian psychoanalysis, through the notion of traumatic real, and the reading of Armando Freitas Filho's poems dedicated to Ana Cristina César's suicide.
