The African Novel and the Problem of World Literature. Notes for a Conceptual Itinerary

Abstract

The article presents a conceptual overview of weltliteratur and world literature, highlighting the conceptual and methodological diversity that guides these categories to be understood as a discursive paradigm historically determined (Pizer, 2006). Observing the transformations of weltliteratur and world literature from a diachronic perspective, it is possible to establish a counterpoint with the most recent debates around world literature, underlining its critical and methodological potential for the study of contemporary African novel.

Keywords:
