A CONSTITUTIONAL CONTROVERSY: COMPLAINTS AGAINST PUBLIC EMPLOYEES IN THE FIRST BRAZILIAN CONSTITUTIONALISM (1824-1841)

This article seeks to analyze the production of writings of complaints and denunciations against public employees in the first Brazilian constitutionalism. By focusing on the discussions about the exercise of public power that were triggered by the production of complaints and denunciations against the misconduct of public officials, we try to recover certain aspects of the materiality of the questioning of the conduct of judges in the nineteenth century in Brazil. This exercise allows us to understand the first Brazilian constitutional experience in a new light.
