Towards a politicization of consumption? ethical consumerism and political culture in Brazil

Political culture has traditionally focused on the interplay between individuals and formalinstitutions of political representation and decision. However, evidence for Brazil reveals a growth in economic power and social responsibility initiatives by corporations, plus higher levels of confidence, sense of personal efficacy and participation among individuals who by seeking to influence companies' generated public goods pave the way to a notion of political consumerism.
