Abstract in Portuguese:

RESUMO Este estudo é um ensaio de caráter bibliográfico qualitativo que tem como objetivo questionar e procurar compreender a (não)existência de alteridade e (não)produção de sentidos nos processos de interação entre homem e máquina. Para isso, realizamos uma síntese que integrou os seguintes assuntos: a concepção dialógica da língua(gem), inteligência artificial (IA), aprendizagem de máquina (AM) e o processamento de linguagem natural (PLN). Durante nossos apontamentos, realizamos questionamentos que nos levaram a um terreno instável e compreendemos que não podemos excluir completamente a ideia de produção de sentidos por máquinas, haja vista que, também, não podemos afirmar a existência de alteridade. Concluímos que, para que esses assuntos sejam explorados com acurácia, é necessário que o ser-humano seja descentralizado e que uma visão híbrida da sociedade e da língua(gem) seja adotada.

ABSTRACT This study is a qualitative bibliographic essay that aims to question and seek to understand the (non)existence of otherness and the (non)production of meaning in the processes of interaction between humans and machines. To this end, we conducted a synthesis that integrated the following topics: the dialogic conception of language, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML) and natural language processing (NLP). During our analysis, we raised questions that led us to an unstable ground, and we concluded that we cannot completely exclude the idea of meaning production by machines, given that we also cannot affirm the existence of otherness. Therefore, we foresee that for these topics to be explored accurately, it is necessary to decentralize the human and adopt a hybrid view of humans, society, and language.

RESUMO Este artigo busca estabelecer um diálogo entre o romance Escritos da Casa Morta, de Fiódor Dostoiévski, e alguns dos teóricos-chave da criminologia crítica. Entende-se que a perspectiva profundamente humanista do autor sobre o cárcere e os condenados permitiu a antecipação de várias das críticas que são feitas ao sistema penitenciário nos dias de hoje. Dostoiévski dá voz às aflições e aspirações dos internos de Semipalátinsk, rejeitando os determinismos que lhes são impostos. Desse modo, a obra se mostra como uma ferramenta valiosa para a reflexão sobre as mazelas do sistema penal.

ABSTRACT This article aims to establish a dialogue between the novel Notes from a Dead House, written by Fyodor Dostoevsky, and some of the main theorists in critical criminology. We understand the author’s deeply humanistic perspective on imprisonment and the condemned allowed him to anticipate great part of present-day criticism of the penitentiary system. Dostoevsky gives voice to the grievances and aspirations of the Semipalatinsk inmates, rejecting the imposition of determinism upon them. Thus, the novel presents itself as an important tool to reflect on the many issues of the criminal justice system.

RESUMO Este artigo tem como objetivo aprofundar os saberes que atravessam o uso da Análise do Discurso Crítica (ADC) para além do binarismo teoria ou metodologia. Para isso, apresenta a Análise do Discurso Crítica Latino-Americana (ADC-LA) como um referencial metodológico contra-hegemônico para pesquisas sobre discursos. Partindo da Teoria Social do Discurso de Fairclough e de seus desdobramentos, o estudo discorre sobre uma perspectiva decolonial centrada na América Latina e aborda as colonialidades do poder, saber e ser que permeiam as práticas discursivas. A ADC-LA é proposta como uma ferramenta de transformação social, integrando conceitos como aquilombagem crítica e epistemes afroperspectivistas. Ao exemplificar sua aplicação em contextos acadêmicos e sociais, o artigo argumenta pela relevância de epistemologias plurais para superar a dependência de teorias eurocentradas. Com isso, a ADC-LA é concebida como um caminho para desconstruir hierarquias de saber e fomentar análises mais inclusivas, alinhadas às realidades locais e às demandas de grupos historicamente subalternizados.

ABSTRACT This article aims to deepen the understanding of the knowledge that informs the use of Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA), moving beyond the binarism between theory and methodology. To this end, it introduces Latin American Critical Discourse Analysis (LA-CDA) as a counter-hegemonic methodological framework for discourse research. Drawing on Fairclough’s Social Theory of Discourse and its developments, the study explores a decolonial perspective rooted in Latin America and addresses the colonialities of power, knowledge, and being that permeate discursive practices. LA-CDA is proposed as a tool for social transformation, incorporating concepts such as critical quilombismo and Afro-perspective epistemes. By illustrating its application in academic and social contexts, the article advocates for the importance of plural epistemologies in overcoming dependence on Eurocentric theories. In this light, LA-CDA is conceived as a pathway for deconstructing hierarchies of knowledge and fostering more inclusive analyses that are aligned with local realities and the demands of historically subalternized groups.

RESUMO Este artigo aborda a aplicação da retórica como elemento fundamental na criação de sentido em Homens imprudentemente poéticos, de Valter Hugo Mãe, e destaca como se dá a interação do texto com os possíveis tipos de leitores. A partir das ideias de Aristóteles sobre verossimilhança e concisão, podemos investigar como a construção de sentido se manifesta no desenvolvimento do romance, além de notar as nuances textuais criadas intencionalmente para a recepção e interpretação das ideias. A pesquisa também ressalta o realismo maravilhoso contido na obra, que combina características do cotidiano e da mitologia japonesa e funciona como elemento retórico, que desperta sentimentos a partir de metáforas sobre questões universais. O estudo evidencia que, ao subverter convenções linguísticas e conjugar real e maravilhoso, a obra pode reafirmar seu poder de eficácia literária e sugerir novas perspectivas de pesquisa em retórica, interculturalidade e recepção.

ABSTRACT This article examines the deployment of rhetoric as a foundational element in meaning-making in Valter Hugo Mãe’s Homens imprudentemente poéticos [Men Imprudently Poetic] and highlights how the text engages with different categories of readers. Drawing on Aristotle’s principles of verisimilitude and concision, it explores the mechanisms through which meaning unfolds over the course of the novel and identifies the textual nuances intentionally crafted for the reception and interpretation of its ideas. The study also underscores the work’s magical realism-blending quotidian detail with Japanese mythology-and shows how this operates as a rhetorical device that evokes affect through metaphors addressing universal themes. Finally, the research demonstrates that, by subverting linguistic conventions and merging the real with the marvelous, the novel reaffirms its literary efficacy and opens new avenues for research in rhetoric, interculturality, and reception studies.

RESUMO O conceito de semiosfera, formulado por Iúri Lotman, é central para a teoria semiótica da cultura e tem sido reinterpretado no Brasil nas últimas três décadas. Este artigo1 mapeia a interpretação do conceito na produção científica brasileira entre 1995 e 2024, selecionados por relevância temática, autoria nacional e qualidade editorial. A análise considera quatro eixos principais: estrutura e dinâmica interna dos sistemas semióticos, processos de comunicação e tradução, mecanismos de memória e relação com a biosfera. Os resultados apontam crescimento da produção a partir de 2010 e a consolidação de uma rede de pesquisadores no país. Também se observa a passagem de abordagens teóricas para aplicações em fenômenos culturais, como jornalismo digital, cultura nerd, literatura de cordel e mídias digitais. Concluímos que a apropriação brasileira do conceito de semiosfera apresenta especificidades próprias e oferece contribuições relevantes para a atualização da teoria lotmaniana em contextos contemporâneos.

ABSTRACT The concept of semiosphere, formulated by Yuri Lotman, is central to the semiotic theory of culture and has been reinterpreted in Brazil over the past three decades. This article1 maps the interpretation of the concept in Brazilian academic production between 1995 and 2024, selected for thematic relevance, national authorship, and editorial quality. The analysis considers four main axes: the structure and internal dynamics of semiotic systems, communication and translation processes, memory mechanisms, and the relationship with the biosphere. The results indicate growth in production after 2010 and the consolidation of a research network in the country. A shift is also observed from theoretical approaches to applications in cultural phenomena such as digital journalism, nerd culture, cordel literature, and digital media. We conclude that the Brazilian appropriation of the semiosphere concept presents specific features and makes relevant contributions to updating Lotman’s theory in contemporary contexts.

RESUMO Este ensaio versa sobre os comentários em ambiência digital, sustentando a tese de que, embora tenham força na internet como espaços de disputa e interação, são, antes de tudo, uma ação intrinsecamente humana, não devendo ser considerados nascidos da web. Nessa perspectiva, objetivamos discutir a relação entre esses comentários e seus textos-fonte, contribuindo com as discussões sobre as relações entre textos, intertextualidades e gêneros na digitalidade. Baseamo-nos em Cavalcante et al. (2019) para o conceito de texto; em Miller (2009) para a concepção de gênero; e em Carvalho (2018) para as discussões sobre intertextualidades. Metodologicamente, recortamos três comentários oriundos de postagens públicas feitas no Instagram. Os resultados apontam que há diferentes gêneros circulando nos espaços destinados aos comentários, cuja materialização textual guarda diferentes graus de dependência do texto-fonte, indo dos mais dependentes, com pouca autonomia, até os menos dependentes, cujo tópico discursivo pode ser desviado, cumprindo funções diversas.

ABSTRACT This essay discusses comments in a digital environment, arguing that, although they hold power on the internet as spaces for dispute and interaction, they are, above all, an intrinsically human action and should not be considered as born from the World Wide Web. In this perspective, we aim to discuss the relationship between these comments and their first-texts, contributing to discussions about the relationships between texts, intertextualities, and genres in digitality. We base our work on Cavalcante et al. (2019) for the concept of text; on Miller (2009) for the conception of genre; and on Carvalho (2018) for discussions on intertextualities. Methodologically, we selected three comments from public posts made on Instagram. The results indicate that there are different genres circulating in the spaces designated for comments, whose textual materialization holds varying degrees of dependence on the first-text, ranging from the most dependent, with little autonomy, to the less dependent, whose discursive topic can be diverted, fulfilling diverse functions.

RESUMO Este artigo analisa características específicas do pós-modernismo cazaque com base na imagem arquetípica de uma garra em um conto recente de um premiado escritor cazaque. Ele analisa os papéis formais e estéticos da imagem da garra na estrutura composicional da história Tyrnak de Aigul Kemelbayeva e a criação de seus significados. Na direção narratológica, o artigo explora a relação discursiva entre o arquétipo e a obra literária. Ele mostra como a intertextualidade pode ser realizada por meio de uma imagem arquetípica chave e como diferentes tipos de discurso se cruzam nessa imagem, que é uma das características mais marcantes da obra de Aigul Kemelbayeva. O autor consegue combinar com sucesso diferentes tipos de discursos em um único todo, expandindo assim o significado da garra de um talismã relacionado às mitologias de diferentes povos para um elemento de religião, arte e ciência. A imagem arquetípica de uma garra serve como um elemento formador de estrutura e um motivo de ligação entre diferentes partes da obra. O uso do arquétipo da garra é baseado em uma base nacional-cultural e fortalece a conexão da obra de arte com mitologia, religião e ciência. Este estudo permite uma compreensão mais clara da especificidade do pós-modernismo na literatura cazaque. Ele mostra que a imagem arquetípica de uma garra no conto Tyrnak de Aigul Kemelbayeva é multifacetada e permite a integração de discursos míticos, religiosos, científicos e artísticos, estimulando o desenvolvimento da prosa cazaque moderna com relação ao gênero e estilo.

ABSTRACT This paper analyzes specific features of Kazakh postmodernism through the archetypal image of the claw in Aigul Kemelbayeva’s award-winning short story Tyrnak. The study examines the formal and aesthetic roles of this image within the compositional structure of the story Tyrnak and the creation of its meanings. From a narratological direction, it explores the discursive relationship between the archetype and the literary text, demonstrating how intertextuality is realized through a single archetypal image and how different types of discourse intersect in it, which is one of the most striking features of Aigul Kemelbayeva’s work. The author combines different types of discourses into a single whole, thus expanding the meaning of the claw from a talisman related to the mythologies of different peoples to an element of religion, art and science. Functioning as a structuring device and a linking motif, the archetypal image of a claw reinforces the work’s connection with mythology, religion and science on a national-cultural basis. This analysis contributes a clearer understanding of the specificity of postmodernism in Kazakh literature, showing how the archetypal image in Tyrnak is multi-layered and enables the integration of mythical, religious, scientific and artistic discourses, stimulating the development of modern Kazakh prose with regard to genre and style.

RESUMO Este artigo1 tem como objetivo investigar de que modo os enunciados institucionais produzidos por uma universidade pública de Mato Grosso, em resposta às normativas de inclusão racial, configuram a presença de pesquisadores negros no campo científico. A instituição foi selecionada por refletir padrões nacionais de sub-representação racial na pesquisa, operando como recorte empírico para análise de processos estruturais mais amplos. A investigação articula análise documental, levantamento quantitativo da composição racial do corpo científico no período de 2000 a 2024 e dados qualitativos provenientes de grupo focal, orientando-se pela abordagem da Análise Dialógica do Discurso. Os resultados indicam que, ao não incorporarem explicitamente a equidade racial como princípio estruturante, os enunciados institucionais que normatizam a política de pesquisa contribuem para a reprodução discursiva e material da sub-representação negra na produção e na coordenação científica, comprometendo a efetividade das ações afirmativas.

ABSTRACT The purpose of this paper1 is to investigate how the institutional utterances produced by a public university in the state of Mato Grosso, in response to racial inclusion policies, shape the presence of black researchers in the scientific field. The institution was selected because it reflects national patterns of racial underrepresentation in research, serving as an empirical locus for analyzing broader structural processes. The investigation combines documentary analysis, a quantitative survey of the racial composition of the scientific workforce from 2000 to 2024, and qualitative data from a focus group, supported by the approach of Dialogic Discourse Analysis. The findings indicate that, by failing to explicitly incorporate racial equity as a structuring principle, the institutional utterances that regulate research policy contribute to the discursive and material reproduction of black underrepresentation in scientific production and coordination, thereby compromising the effectiveness of affirmative actions.

RESUMO O aprendizado da oralidade é uma habilidade fundamental para o desenvolvimento escolar e pessoal dos/das estudantes, pois auxilia na capacidade de interação social. Assim, este trabalho traça uma proposta teórico-metodológica na modalidade oral, envolvendo questões de análise linguística pelo viés dialógico da linguagem. Objetivamos apresentar uma sequência de atividades de oralidade e de análise linguística na perspectiva dialógica e decolonial com o vídeo-propaganda programa Minuto da Justiça, de combate à violência contra a mulher, na voz do personagem Epaminondas Gustavo. Partimos de estudos do Círculo de Bakhtin, na emergência de instrumentalizar os sujeitos para o exercício da cidadania, incluindo a potencialização dos saberes regionais. Pretendemos contribuir para o processo contínuo e eficaz da construção do conhecimento da oralidade, com propostas exequíveis a partir do texto semiótico e multimodal com elementos linguísticos em enunciados vivos e concretos e, com isso, discutir o problema social de violência contra a mulher na Amazônia.

ABSTRACT Learning oral communication is a fundamental skill for students’ academic and personal development, as it helps them with their ability to interact socially. Thus, this work outlines a theoretical-methodological proposal in oral communication, involving questions of linguistic analysis from the dialogical perspective of language. Our goal is to present a sequence of oral activities and linguistic analysis activities from a dialogical and decolonial perspective with the video propaganda of Minuto da Justiça [Minute of Justice] program, which aims to combat violence against women, in the voice of the character Epaminondas Gustavo. We start from studies of the Bakhtin Circle, in the emergence of equipping subjects to exercise citizenship, including the potentializing of regional knowledge. We aim to contribute to the continuous and effective process of constructing oral knowledge, with feasible proposals based on semiotic and multimodal texts with linguistic elements in living and concrete utterances, and thus to discuss the social problem of violence against women in the Amazon.

RESUMO O isolamento social para conter os impactos provocados pelo vírus Sars-Cov, nos anos de 2020 e 2021 produziu um novo cenário no contexto da pesquisa. Este artigo se constitui na reescritura do último capítulo da tese de doutoramento, de autoria de Flávia Maria de Menezes, concluída e defendida em pleno isolamento social, utilizando o WhatsApp como ambiente para encontros com o grupo de pesquisa, a orientadora e demais acontecimentos da vida acadêmica no curso do Doutorado, que não eram possíveis de forma presencial. O referido capítulo da tese é uma carta escrita hipoteticamente a Mikhail Bakhtin, para pensar a experiência discursiva na rede social do WhatsApp como uma outra estética da criação verbal. A reescrita pretendeu produzir um texto propositivo e convidativo ao debate e à reflexão sobre conceitos bakhtinianos, que foram a base para pensarmos a dimensão estética na produção discursiva no Whatsapp como um cronotopo.

ABSTRACT The social isolation to detain the impacts caused by the Sars-Cov virus in 2020 and 2021 produced a new scenario in the context of research. This article constitutes a rewriting of the last chapter of the doctoral thesis, written by Flávia Maria de Menezes, completed and defended in full social isolation, using WhatsApp as an environment for meetings with the research group, the supervisor and other events in academic life during the Doctorate course, which were not possible in person. The mentioned chapter of the thesis is a letter written hypothetically to Mikhail Bakhtin, to think about the discursive experience on the WhatsApp social network as another aesthetic of verbal creation. The rewriting intended to produce a purposeful and inviting text for debate and reflection on Bakhtinian concepts, which were the basis for thinking about the aesthetic dimension in discursive production on WhatsApp as a chronotope.

RESUMO Nesta pesquisa, buscamos investigar, mediante o uso de enunciados na primeira pessoa do singular em embalagens, especialmente da empresa Lola Cosmetics, o surgimento da subjetividade atrelada às mercadorias. Para isso, discutimos e aplicamos a recente teorização a respeito dos enunciados aderentes, formulada pelo analista do discurso Dominique Maingueneau, além de relacioná-la a apontamentos sociológicos, como os de Gilles Lipovetsky. Assim, apresentamos tais atualizações conceituais e demonstramos sua proficuidade ao tornar visíveis as novas relações sociais implicadas no uso aparentemente banal de um enunciado marcado como vindo do produto. Entre os resultados, destacam-se a relação ideológica desses enunciados com um discurso verde e a relação entre produtos para o corpo humano e sua constituição como um corpo enunciativo fiador de confiança.

ABSTRACT In this study, we plan to investigate, through the usage of first-person singular in packages, especially from the company Lola Cosmetics, the insurgence of subjectivity associated with commodities. To do so, we discussed and applied the recent theorization regarding adherent utterances, formulated by the discourse annalist Dominique Maingueneau, while also associating it with sociological notes, such as the ones by Gilles Lipovetsky. Therefore, we present such conceptual updates and demonstrate their usefulness by shining light on the new social relations implied in the seemingly ordinary use of an utterance marked as if coming from the product. Among the findings, we highlight the ideological relation of these utterances as an environmentally friendly discourse and the relationship between commodities for the human body and its constitution as an enunciative body guarantor of trust.
