Abstract
The Alvo rockshelter, located in the municipality of Analândia, Sao Paulo, presents rock art mostly composed of engravings on a sandstone substrate of the Botucatu Formation. The shelter was originally registered in the 1980s and in 2012 new interventions were carried out at the site, including excavations and datings that put the oldest age of human occupation around 7,500 years cal AP. This study presents a detailed analysis of the rock art located in the Alvo rockshelter, which is composed mostly of tridigits, also presenting horizontal lines, crossed lines, asterisks, cupules, and circular figures. A general overview of the state of conservation of the rock art is also addressed.
