Due to the importance of Fusarium oxysporum, F. vasinfectum (Atk.) Snyder & Hansen in the State of São Paulo, improved strains, obtained by the cotton breeders of the "Instituto Agronômico", are often discarded because they are susceptible to Fusarium.
