ABSTRACT
The article aims to analyze the contours of the debate on social quality of education, which took place from the 1990s, and the marks of some permeability of this social quality in the educational policy of the period, in the context of result-based regulation emergence. Examine documents that social quality is defended and their power towards such regulation. Considering a certain permeability of social quality and its dismissal by policies embedded in neo-right ideology, the text highlights that the public school with social quality refers to the construction of new hegemony.
