This work is on advanced degrees in International Relations in Brazil, which have grown four-fold from two in the 1980s to eight in 2008. The first part of the paper discusses this increase in the total of degrees and public policy incentives for the creation and consolidation of such programs. The second part discusses the evaluation of these programs by Capes and maps out the state of International Relations in Brazil given research incentives from Capes and CNPq.
