Abstract
The purpose of this text is to contribute to the understanding of how the metropolis and metropolization have been conceptually approached in the articles published in the scientific journal Cadernos Metrópole. This journal specializes in the metropolitan theme and has been published for two decades, without interruption, covering exactly the period in which this object regained a marked conceptual vigor. Initially, a bibliometric survey was carried out to identify the concepts most used in the published texts. This was complemented by the reading of the texts, searching for references of the theoretical-conceptual matrix that guided them.
