Abstract:
This article intends to review the main aphorisms in which Nietzsche addresses the thoughts of Democritus. The purpose is to unravel the importance that the inaugural Democritean materialism exerts in Nietzsche's reflection. To achieve this purpose, an analysis is carried out that addresses not only the successes that Nietzsche highlights in Democritus's atomistic materialism, but also the flaws that he finds in his approach. From the evaluation of Nietzsche's comments in this regard, it will be possible to establish a balance of the weight of Democritus' theory in the Nietzschean approach.
