The Oblivion as Will to Power. The Economy Principle in Nietzsche´s Epistemology

Abstract:

This article compares Friederich Nietzsche’s epistemology with that produced by the positivists of the 19th century. The theme running through this comparison is the different uses that these authors make of the principle of economy applied to epistemology. Once we have elucidated how Nietzsche reformulates this epistemology by combining it with the hypothesis of the will to power, I will point out how the theoretical displacement operated by the principle of economy produces in Nietzsche's thought an inversion and re-evaluation of the concepts of "memory" and "forgetting" applied to the theory of knowledge.
