THE CIRCULATION OF WORDS IN THE CARE OF CHILDREN FACING PSYCHOLOGICAL VULNERABILITYThis article proposes a reflection on the importance of the circulation of words spoken by children in conditions of psychological vulnerability as one of the key elements of childhood care. To do so, we share the intervention devices developed in our research and the methodological strategies implemented to foster the construction of children’s self-narratives about their experiences with cancer and/or amputation. The analyses of the empirical data reveal forms of experiential knowledge that children develop in dealing with such vulnerabilities. The findings suggest that narrative composition becomes a valuable tool for children to construct a possible version of these experiences when faced with others who are available to listen and bear witness to their suffering.
