GENERAL ANESTHESIA IN SHEEP FOR EXPERIMENTAL SURGERIES

Abstract

Veterinary experimental surgeries as those ones using animals for human purpose, have became increasingly important. Sheep are important experimental animal particularly in cardiopulmonaries function investigations. This review paper describes the use of general anesthesia in ovine, including preparation of the patient, sedation, anesthetic induction, anesthetic maintenance, tracheal intubation, monitoring and recovery.
