Input Processing in the teaching of related languages: A study based on Processing Instruction for the teaching of concessive sentences to Brazilians learners

ABSTRACT

This study is based on Processing Instruction for the teaching of the mode selection on the concessive sentences with aunque conjunction to the Brazilian learners. They were organized in two experimental groups: one with inferential and translation contrastive between L1/L2 activities. After prior assessment and two post-grammar instruction evaluations, the performance and evaluation of learners were analyzed. Results, in general, show a positive and progressive development in the number of correct answers of the group that used the contrastive approach, regardless the verbal mode, the type of test and the times of data collection.
