Aryon Rodrigues: 70 years dedicated to Linguistics and Indigenous Languages

The article presents some facts of the linguist Aryon Dall’Igna Rodrigues’ life (1925-2014), some of which, little known, and highlights some key aspects of his contribution to the development of the field of linguistics in Brazil, and in particular his contribution to the study of indigenous languages and the training of researchers in this area. The text also contains information about the initiative taken by Aryon Rodrigues for preservation, and for public usage of his bibliographic and documentary collections.
