ABSTRACT
Several authors have drawn attention to the fact that, with the explosion of data, we have entered a second era of the internet, also called the age of datafication. The unusually disruptive character that this explosion has provoked in the societies we inhabit seems at first sight indecipherable. However, I have made an effort to seek to understand some of the main traits capable of designing the tensions of contemporary forces. I called this effort the diagnosis of the contemporary, whose characteristics and consequences are discussed in this article.
