TEACHERS’ NARRATIVES ABOUT HISTORY TEACHING AT YOUTH AND ADULT EDUCATION: DOCUMENTARY PRODUCTION AS AN ANALYSIS

ABSTRACT:

This article presents excerpts from a Professional Master’s Degree study developed between 2018-2020, which had as its object of study the teaching of History in Youth and Adult Education (EJA). Based on concerns about the social function of the discipline and its relations with practical human life, the text discusses the construction of the teaching process of history with young and adult students and the meaning of this discipline for their citizen formation based on experiences and views of professionals who work in this teaching modality. With Oral History as the methodological guideline, interviews were conducted with teachers, and the analyses of their narratives were recorded in a documentary, whose production process was detailed that contributes to EJA students recognizing themselves as protagonists in history and knowledge production.
