SCIENCE-TECHNOLOGY-SOCIETY IN DISCOURSES OF CURRICULUM STRUCTURE AND PROFESSORS IN A DEGREE COURSE IN PHYSICS

ABSTRACT:

This study analyzes possible mobilizations of the Physics degree course at the Universidade Federal do Amazonas (UFAM), in Brazil, to insert discussions about science and technology in the initial teacher education process. The research corpus is made up of disciplines and speeches of the institution’s professors. The analysis is based on assumptions of the science-technology-society approach and on the principles of French discourse analysis. It was found that the disciplines analyzed have favorable spaces for the discussion of science and technology, although there is no specific direction. The answers to the questionnaire applied reinforce the understanding of the need for student training that includes these approaches to help future teachers, when in the profession, to contribute with knowledge with which citizens can position themselves about science and technology and in society decisions.
