This article was taken from the conference "Cenário Nacional da Educação Brasileira e Pós-graduação" (Scenery of national Brazilian education and post graduation). Based on Andre Leroi-Gourhan thesis on the development of human knowledge, studies the historical process of education and research in Brazil. The science and technology model found here is not adapted to the world technology. To invest in health, education, science and technology is not a financial matter, as investing in these sectors determines the survival and death expansion of a people and prevents the death of a collectivity. Some few ones can escape from that process, being integrated in other countries, using privileges and becoming a part of another people. What could be done? In political terms, the executive power should be submitted to other powers. In terms of universities, the internal groups should put pressure on administration and on politics for financing and sustaining research.
