Political-economic crisis in Brazil: brief analysis of higher education

ABSTRACT:

The article discusses higher education institutions in the complex Brazilian economic and political context. This is an exploratory study and its development has been based on bibliographical research, documentary analysis of necessaries issues for understanding the theme, and consultation of existing statistics. The text was developed in two moments. Firstly, the world capitalist crisis and its most recent impacts in Latin America and Braziland, in the political sphere, the impeachment of the elected president Dilma Rousseff were analyzed, as well as the programmatic platform and the first measures of Michel Temer’s government. In the second stage, an analysis of higher education in this context was developed. The article is concluded by pointing out alternatives in the field of social and union movements.
