Resumo em Inglês: ABSTRACT This article aims to consider Haroldo de Campos' poetry and translation from the perspective of a transnational and Americanist project undertaken by the author. Thus, the initial belief in World Literature will be presented, and then demonstrate how the author problematized this initial idea, embarking on a project of dialogue with the literature of other Latin American countries. Thus, the role of Hispanic American literature in Haroldo's work will be discussed. It will be verified how the Baroque and Neo-Baroque played a fundamental role in a poetic-critical turn in the last decades of the 20th century that the author experienced, based on approaches with authors such as Luis de Góngora, José Lezama Lima and Severo Sarduy, who help Haroldo, based on the idea of transculturation, to conceive his transcreation. Finally, it will be discussed how the idea ofimitatiois productive for understanding Haroldo de Campos' translation project, serving as a basis for the author not only to recover several Hispanic authors but also to rethink and recreate his poetry. |

Resumo em Inglês: ABSTRACT This paper shows an analysis of Spanglish in Fiebre tropical, by Julián Delgado Lopera, and in the Brazilian translation, Febre tropical, by Natalia Borges Polesso. The novel is about a Colombian teenager who migrates with her mother and sister to Miami, where they meet her aunt and grandmother and start become part of an evangelical church. We use narratological categories of implied author, implied translator, implied reader, narrator and narratee, based on Schiavi (1996), Hermans (1996) and O’Sullivan (2003), to identify the communication among these entities, considering Spanglish. Analysis indicates an implied author who seeks communication in Spanglish, with little explanation; the implied reader would therefore be someone who understands Spanish, infers meaning by context or has gaps in their reading. The implied translator sees keeping Spanish as relevant, but expects a more complete reading, and offers paratextual notes and a glossary; therefore, the implied reader would understand Portuguese, but not necessarily Spanish or English. The narrator uses Spanglish with little clarification; therefore, expects a narratee who understands Spanish, contextually infers meaning or follows the story with gaps. She presents explanations for cultural elements from her original and new contexts, indicating the expectation of a narratee who does not know them. The analysis indicates that it might be expected for linguistic and cultural sharing in multilingual texts to be incomplete. |

Resumo em Inglês: Abstract: This article proposes to address two collections of Brazilian literature translated, Iracema and Escritores del Brasil, published in Argentina, in the 1970s and 1980s, by the Centro de Estudios Brasileños (CEB) in Buenos Aires, directed by Maria Julieta Drummond de Andrade at that time. The aim of the article is to study the role of the agents involved in their production and circulation, as well as the circuits of consecration in the press (in Brazil and Argentina), based on a corpus made up of these translations and documentary sources (letters, journalistic reports). Some of the aspects to be analyzed refer to the international flow of translations, to the text selection criteria and to the paratexts. The aim is to highlight the role of the press in disseminating translations and in the recognition of translated writers not only abroad, but also in Brazil. |

Resumo em Inglês: Abstract: The poetry translation section "Arcas de Babel", published online in Revista Cult and curated by poet-translator Patrícia Lavelle, embraces a series of poetic translations and statements regarding subjectivation processes and historicities related to translation activity. After thoroughly examining the section's contents, this paper aims to discuss how the practices of both translation and poetic transcreation spread in cyberculture share the desire to unleash the true potential of the original language and to transform the singularities that reside within the target language. It is safe to assume these exchanges are mobilized through operations of reciprocal estrangement, which challenges the limits imposed by territorial and glottopolitical borders between the “self” and the translated “other”, hybridizing both of them. On account of that, twelve translations belonging to twelve different categorical groups were selected for posterior analysis, in order to investigate poetic practices that seek to turn translation activity and digital media into alternative paths to the contemporary Brazilian literary horizon. |

Resumo em Inglês: ABSTRACT This paper aims to analyze, from the perspective of Translation Studies and Publishing Studies, the publishing the new phenomenon called the “nuevo boom” of Latin American Literature in Brazil, and its effects on the dialogue among women in the region as well as on the comprehension and the redefinition of Latin American identity. To do so, the historical construction of the concept of Latin America is outlined, besides the problematic space of Brazil in it; followed by the analysis of the idea of “nuevo boom” and the presence of women in the Hispanic literature translation in Brazil as well as the discussion with two Brazilian publishing and translation initiatives: the magazine Puñado, from the publishing house Incompleta, and the collection Nosotras, from the publishing house Relicário. |

Resumo em Inglês: ABSTRACT This work is based on the premise that there is an astonishing amount of literary productions by Hispanic-American women - of fundamental historical, political, social and cultural value in their contexts of origin -, which continue to be systematically ignored by the Brazilian publishing market. Based on the collection of various data supported by field research, we developed a research project that has been developed at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul and aims to build a database with information on untranslated Hispanic-American women from the 19th century that can serve as a reference for new works, reflections and translations that take these voices out of their confinement. Based on Transnational Feminist Translation Studies, we understand translation not only as a communicative activity, but as a tool with high potential for social intervention that can contribute to the revision of dominant canons, conceptions, and values. In this paper, we present the pilot study of the project that focuses on three countries of three Americas: Mexico (North), Honduras (Central), and Colombia (South). As results, we will indicate the sources of reference researched, both for the identification of the authors in their context of production and for the confirmation of their (non)translation in Brazil; a summary of the data obtained so far; and a brief description of writers considered precursors of literature in the three countries studied. Thus, we intend to contribute to the rewriting of a cartography of Spanish-American translation in Brazil, enabling the introduction of new female voices in the Brazilian publishing market. |

Resumo em Inglês: ABSTRACT This paper analyzes Jacinta Escudos´s book Memorias del año de la Cayetana, based on the notion of a poetics of translation, understood as a creative and political process that manifests itself on multiple levels of the narrative. The analysis considers, on the one hand, the articulation between the literary, cinematographic and photographic languages that structure the work, configuring a hybrid and intermedial writing; on the other, it highlights the pronominal change from “tú” to “vos” made in the third edition of the novel (2019), as a gesture of linguistic and symbolic reterritorialization. This operation is not reduced to a stylistic variation, but functions as a translation act of a decolonial nature, repositioning the enunciating subject and its interlocutors within a Central American geopolitics of language. In light of Jacques Derrida’s notion of destinerrancy, which articulates the idea of destiny and wandering as constitutive of every act of communication, translation is here understood as transit - between languages, forms and cultural spaces. The use of “vos” in this context reorients reception and reinscribes the novel in a horizon of localized listening, marking an inflection in the aesthetic project of Escudos. The poetics of translation that permeates the work is not limited to interlanguage, but acts as a practice of cultural reinscription, revealing the displacements and reappropriations that define literature as a field of wandering, creation and resistance. |

Resumo em Inglês: ABSTRACT: This article proposes a reflection on two linguistic-territorial processes: cultural translation and “abigarramiento lingüístico” (González Almada, 2017). These processes condense the tensions that arise in some literary texts during their translation, their inclusion in a given literary system, within the framework of prejudices imprinted on linguistic hierarchies, among others. As metacritical tools, cultural translation and “abigarramiento lingüístico” inspire an inquiry into literary materials sung and narrated in Bolivian territory. Texts by Mauro Alwa, Elvira Espejo, Elio Ortiz, and Elías Caurey will be the starting point for this reading. |

Resumo em Inglês: ABSTRACT This article explores how the so-called “erotic ceramics”, crafted by pre-Columbian cultures, may be read as non-verbal intrassemiotic translations of queer dissidence in Latin America. Far from passive archaeological artifacts, these tridimensional images operate as visual archives that precede both Western graphic regimes and the historiographical grammar of sexuality. They translate embodied affects and erotic gestures untethered from reproductive logic and binary norms, offering alternative imaginaries of desire and existence. Here, Moche pottery is approached not as a singular artifact but as a language - a gesture of survival that resists colonial erasure by inscribing forms of dissident life long before modernity named or pathologized them. Finally, drawing on the theory of refraction, we interrogate the colonial mechanisms that have silenced and erased the “queer” content of these artifacts, with particular attention to the intersemiotic readings promoted by the Museo Larco. We examine how colonial empires have normalized, reinterpreted, and distorted dissident visual archives through a refractive regime that converts pre-colonial memories and identities into forms of translation and pathology. |

Resumo em Inglês: ABSTRACT In September 2002, the journal Actes de la Recherche en Sciences Sociales, founded by Pierre Bourdieu in 1975, focused on translation, its social functions and the universe of actors interacting in the processes of literary importation. Coordinated and introduced by Johan Heilbron and Gisèle Sapiro, issue 144 entitled “Traduction: les échanges littéraires internationaux” outlines a problematic and a theoretical-methodological framework capable of making literary translation an object of sociological and historical analysis. The general purpose of this paper is to reconstruct the first and early reading operations of the dossier in Argentina in order to evaluate the reception of the sociology of translation in this country and its effects on the constitution of a local research topic on international exchanges. |

Resumo em Inglês: ABSTRACT: Brazilian literature experienced renewed momentum abroad at the beginning of the 21st century, alongside the country’s growing global prominence. Numerous new translations and retranslations of classics appeared during this period. In France, the publishing house Anacaona stands as a notable example of this trend. In 2016, it published Kéro, un reportage maudit, by Plínio Marcos, originally released in Brazil in 1976. The work recounts the violent adolescence of Jerônimo da Piedade. The text captures the rhythm of Jerônimo’s speech, using rewritten aphorisms and neologisms to revive the underworld of Santos in the 1970s. To reflect on the translation of the linguistic complexity of this novel by Plínio Marcos, we propose an analysis of the translation choices in Kéro and their implications for the construction of Brazilian marginal literature’s image in France. |

Resumo em Inglês: ABSTRACT Given the intense process of internationalization in universities, the need for the academic community to improve their English language proficiency to participate in mobility programs is notable, since they provide opportunities for the knowledge exchange and encourage productivity and scientific partnerships. In this scenario, with globalization and internationalization, universities recognize the importance of English as a Lingua Franca, as it gives access to international insertion. The university, in this context, also plays the primary role of implementing and maintaining pedagogical actions to provide support for such actions. With initiatives to implement this target language, internationalization at home activities have been increasing exponentially. For instance, an internationalized curriculum is a means by which all university students can benefit from the internationalization process, as it involves a set of activities carried out at the institution itself providing assistance to both local and foreign students to be prepared to work in multicultural and international contexts. In order to achieve this, we need to prepare educators to teach their subject courses using English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI). In the study, we aim at presenting different EMI courses, both online and face-to-face, that have been offered since 2019 in a public university in Sao Paulo. Course objectives included introducing the theory and practice of teaching different disciplinary content using EMI and the target audience included undergraduate and graduate professors. We intend to present background information about each course and then, reflect on successful practices and challenges yet to be overcome within our context. |

Resumo em Inglês: ABSTRACT: This paper develops an epistemological reflection on Ferdinand de Saussure’s linguistic theory, on the assumption that this theory proposes a set of discussions that could be read in relation to the cognitive dimension of language. The main point is that Saussure formulated cognitive insights in his general linguistic theory which were later developed by Cognitive Linguistics. In this vein, the subject of examination includes the notion of linguistic sign, the principle that language is not a nomenclature superimposed on reality, the arbitrariness of the sign and, finally, the systemic view of language. First, it is pointed out that linguistic meaning is treated by Saussure as being conceptual in nature, which brings him closer to Cognitive Linguistics, which also treats meaning as conceptualization and develops, specifically, the notions of conceptual blending and construal. Secondly, it is argued that while Saussure’s notion of sign relates a concept and an acoustic image and, therefore, cannot be directly associated to units such as “the word”, the relationship between the signifying form and the signified can be related to notion of grammatical construction, as proposed by the constructional perspective of Cognitive Linguistics. |

Resumo em Inglês: ABSTRACT The cochlear implant is an electronic device used by people with congenital or acquired profound sensorineural hearing loss, which enables access to sound. It is often conceived as a technological resource that integrates deaf individuals into a predominantly hearing society, with many of its advocates opposing the use of sign language. Considering this discourse circulating about implanted subjects, this study analyzes the experience of a deaf person who is both a cochlear implant user and a Brazilian Sign Language (Libras) user, focusing on his relationship with the hearing community. The objective is to understand how he perceives his participation and forms of interaction within a predominantly hearing social environment. The theoretical framework combines Deaf Studies and materialist discourse analysis. Methodologically, a semi-structured interview was conducted, which allowed the genuine expression of perceptions and experiences. The results indicate that Libras remains essential in the lives of deaf people, including those with cochlear implants, since in contexts where the device cannot be used (such as bathing, swimming, or sports), sign language emerges as the primary tool for communication. |
