Abstract

There are moments when grand History gives way to small everyday stories. In these moments, History reduces itself to myths. It is then that tragedy comes back. Death is no longer denied but deliberately confronted publicly faced up to. The confrontation of destiny and a cyclical return are the essential elements which signal the crucial transformation that is about to happen in the conception of social time. This is not an abstract philosophical issue, but the basis for a new relationship with others and the world.
