Abstract

This paper aims to make an inventory of the master’s researches of the Post-Graduation Programm in Social Anthropology (PPGAS) at Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, which inform about the use of the photograph instrument of the anthropologist in his field’s experience and about the use of the photograph in the construction of the monographic text. Among of 65 dissertation that has been defended in the PPGAS, we analyzed an experience of 20 anthropologists that utilized the resource of photograph in their ethnographic work, from1983 to 1997.
