Abstract
This special issue analyzes the importance of IOs in the origin, development and reconfiguration of national education systems in various countries. It tries to study the impact of insights such as UNESCO, the OECD, the World Bank or the phenomena of educational diplomacy in this process. On the other hand, its objective is not only focused on studying the international influences of the aforementioned International Organizations. It also intends to advance the development of the transnational turn in History of Education. Therefore, one of its main objectives is to investigate how the phenomenon known as the global architecture of education or global educational governance developed.
