Plotting lives of distinct Brazilians with scrupulous accuracy: biography, scholarship and writing of history in the Historical and Geographical Brazilian Institute Review (1839-1850)

The article aims at reflecting on the biographic texts publications in the Historical and Geographical Brazilian Institute Review between 1839 and 1850. The hypothesis to be examined is that the biographies of illustrated Brazilians were a genre of writing linked to its place of production and submitted to procedures and rules of a historiographical operation.
