During a search of 531 natural biotopes for sylvatic triatominae bugs in the State of Bahia, Brazil, 12 specimens of Triatoma lenti and Triatoma pessoai were found in caves in which lived wild rock cavies; 1.043 specimens of Psammolestes tertius were fuond in birds nests. A morphological description of P. tertius is given, with data on its distribution in the State of Bahia.
