BODILY PRACTICES AS A CONCEPT?

Abstract:

From a post-structuralist perspective, it proposes to problematize the term Bodily Practices as a concept for the field of Physical Education. Studies, research and arguments in the literature demonstrate the heterogeneity, indefiniteness and polysemy of this term. It presents scientific and linguistic subsidies to support that Bodily Practices does not have sufficient specificity, stability and density to be considered as such, from structuralist perspectives. However, if considering understandings inspired by the philosophy of difference and post-structuralism, Bodily Practices has the potential to be considered a concept for the field.
