Students knowledge regarding psychological assessment concepts

The vocational training in psychological assessment is the focus of the present study. The assessment education has been considered a central problem in the psychological vocational training considering that different authors have pointed to a relation among unsuitable professional performances and inconsistent vocational training in this area. The present study analyzed the psychology and engineering students' knowledge about psychological assessment concepts. Participated 193 students, from an institution of education in the interior of São Paulo. For the accomplishment of the study a 35 items test was elaborated with dichotomic questions, whose objective was to investigate the concept of assessment, the learning process and use of tests. The results showed that group 2 (psychology) had obtained a better achievement in many questions than group 1 (engineering), and that test revealed a significant difference between the two groups in 20 items.
