Self production in depression

This article presents some reflections about the production of a subjectivity's experience established over knowledge and practices supported by the depression proposition. Since practices and discourses about normality and deviation incur into forms of subjectivity, this research analyzes in a Foucault's perspective and from fragments of discourses present in forums and surveys of virtual communities from ORKUT, the production of the self work in reference to depression diagnostic. Facing the imperative of knowing the truth of his health, surrounded by the demands of normative ideals , believing in the necessity of protecting himself from risks to his life, the subject adopts diagnostics as identities, prevent measures and medical treatments as self practices.
