Interprofessional education and permanent health education as a strategy for building comprehensive care in the Psychosocial Care Network

Abstract

The study describes Interprofessional Education and Permanent Health Education processes in the implementation of a Psychosocial Care Center for the production of mental health care. The context of the interiorization of the psychosocial care network, which gained momentum through the decentralization of health services in regions composed of municipalities with less than 15 thousand inhabitants, stands out. The methodology was based on institutional analysis, institutional socioclinics, research-intervention, with a qualitative theoretical perspective. Data construction comprised conversation circles with CAPS professionals and observant participation registered in research journals. The data pointed to interprofessional education and permanent education as professional training strategies in the work process, allowing for reflections and actions in the practice scenario beyond psychiatric intervention and the prescription of psychotropic drugs.
