The contributions of the cognitive psychotherapeutic model to the psychological evaluation and treatment of a seropositive patient

The paper presents a clinical case study, which includes assessment and treatment, based on the Cognitive Psychotherapeutic model, of a HIV positive patient aged 30 who showed symptoms of depression as a consequence of the diagnosis of her HIV positive status. The therapeutical objectives were reached after participation in nine therapy sessions, and a process of bibliotherapy as a task at home. The improvement achieved was observed during the follow-up interview held two months after the end of the treatment.
