Information quality measurement implementation: an experiment to analyze perceived results

Nowadays, a great amount of data is available in a diverse range of sources. In this context, Information Quality (IQ) measurement is a way to classify and identify information that can be more suitable to user's needs and interests. The goal of this article is to study the relation between the effort needed to implement Information Quality measurement and its results. An Information Quality measurement methodology is proposed and an experiment where this measurement was implemented is described. IQ results perceived by the participants of the experiment are analyzed. The obtained conclusion is that, to participants, IQ measurement and its results are important but no correlation was found between the effort needed for IQ measurement implementation and its results.
