LINES, BASTINGS AND SEAMS IN THE PROCESS OF CREATING A PERFORMANCE/EXHIBITION

Abstract

The aim of this article is to analyze the creation process of Fernanda Yamamoto and her team, focusing on the creation of the performance/exhibition for the first post-pandemic in-person edition of the fashion event São Paulo Fashion Week, which took place in November 2021. Supported by the contributions from Lev Vigotski, Mikhail Bakhtin, Cecília Salles and Suely Rolnik, among others, the discussions propose to understand the artistic practice and handicrafts as a possibility to establish ways of reinventing the elements of life, the self and the world. It is concluded that the ways of creating established by the artist and her team constitute the studio as a space in which it is possible to make visible the tensions of the capitalist system at the same time that they forge potentiating deviations, expressing other modes of production of reality and subjectivity in contemporaneity.
