It is important to develop brief and inexpensive educational materials to prevent or reduce the impact of child sexual abuse. In 2012, the law 12.650 was enacted, encouraging adults who were sexually abused in their childhood to seek for justice. This study aimed at formulating and performing apparent validation of a child abuse prevention brochure, checking its understanding by the target audience and adequacy to the subject. The apparent validation was carried out by five experts in Forensic Psychology, three university students and six adult victims of child abuse, who answered a closed questionnaire evaluating the brochure. The brochure was well received and commended for its goal, original formatting, and simple language.
