Validity evidences regarding the internal structure of the Fairy Tales Test

The Fairy Tales Test (FTT), originally from Greece, evaluates dynamic personality aspects of children aged 6 to 11. The current work goal was to identify validity evidences regarding the internal structure of the FTT in a Brazilian sample. The study sample consisted of 315 children from the general population and 167 children from clinical groups. The research made use of a socio-demographic data form, as well as the Raven's Colored Progressive Matrices (CPM), and the FTT. The children from the sample were recruited from public and private schools and from health and child protection institutions. Regarding the exploratory factorial analysis, it was found a seven-factor solution which were evaluated and interpreted following the test theory proposition. These results are considered satisfactory and indicate internal structure validity for the FTT from a psychometric standpoint.
