Escala Baptista de Depressão (Versão Adulto) - EBADEP-A: convergent validity and temporal stability

The main purpose of this research was to evaluate evidence of convergent validity between the Escala Baptista de Depressão (Versão Adulto) - EBADEP-A and the Beck Depression Inventory II - BDI-II, and to assess the temporal stability of EBADEP-A through the test and re-test method in a one-month period. The present study included 173 college students with an average of 24.45 years of age (SD=8.45), mostly women. After a one month period, 65 participants, mostly women (90.8%), with an average of 21 years of age (SD=5.48) answered the instrument a second time. The results showed, according to international standards, high correlation indices between scales, and the test-retest as well, demonstrating adequate psychometric qualities of EBADEP-A also in these questions, confirming other previous studies. These results and the limitations of the study are also discussed.
