Predition of the growth in unthinned eucalyptus clonal stands using non stationary transition matrixes

The objective of this work was to evaluate a methodology based on non stationary transition matrixes to predict the growth in unthinned eucalyptus clonal stands. After analyses, it was verified that the use of specific matrixes for each growth period and for each productivity class was efficient to predict the diametric distribution and volumetric stock of the stands as well as to define the technical ages for cutting. Besides, the proposed methodology showed potential to define the time of thinning.
