Problem-Based Learning: A Path to Curricular Reform

Abstract

Among post-modern trends in education, problem-based learning figures as one avenue to curricular change by means of self-directed learning to learn, a philosophy of education close to that of the 'pedagogy of autonomy'. Efforts necessary for that curricular change to occur include innovations in faculty development, in organizing educational resources and in assessment.
