Reviewing, rethinking, and (re)signifying: the importance of reflection on practice in the teaching career

This article focuses on the importance of reflection on teaching practices in higher education, specifically in medical school, based on the concept of the professor as a reflective practitioner. The study suggests the need for a new look at the teaching-learning process to allow the kind of teaching practice that reflects on action and conceives learning as a construction performed by the individuals themselves through the relations and meaning they establish between the information presented to them and their social milieu
